Well done to everyone who took part in the Prayer Service of Commitment and Ceremony of Light which is an important event in preparing the children for Confirmation.
Special thanks to Fr. Jim Greene for the lovely ceremony, to the class Teacher Mr. Newman for preparing the children, to the parents and family members and to all who helped to prepare for this ceremony. The children really enjoyed carving the pumpkins and making Jack-o-Lanterns and a scarecrow. There are lovely Halloween displays around Carriganima village. Well done to all involved. Happy Halloween from everyone in Carriganima National School. Halloween Dress-Up Day : Things got a little spooky in school today! There was an incredible variety of imaginative, funny and scary costumes everywhere. Credit is due to the children and parents for the lovely costumes. We wish you all a safe and happy Halloween Mid Term Break! Picking our school grown pumpkins, planted last year We learned that pumpkins can come in different shapes and sizes. They are green and turn orange when ripe. We also learned that the pumpkin plant dies when the fruit is ready to be picked and that slugs like to nibble on pumpkins!!!! We look forward to carving these during the week for the pumpkin challenge organised by Carriganima Community Development Group. It was a great start to Maths Week last week in Carriganima National School. Cuiditheoir Michelle visited us on Tuesday to play some exciting Maths games with the children. Mrs. Sheahan's class had lots of fun working with beads and number patterns. They learned how to scan qr codes to easily find fun Maths websites. They also played fun mathematical activities on the iPads and did shape pictures for Maths Week Art. Mr. Newman’s class did lovely Halloween and Maths Week Art. Mrs. Sheahan's class had a Zoom call with the Picker Pals on Wednesday. We learned all about taking care of our environment by picking up litter and how to litter pick safely: Always use the picker, wear gloves, wear a high vis vest, stay with your grown up and don't pick anything sharp or harmful. If you are not sure, ask your adult. Lovely paper collage Fox craft by Mrs. Sheahan’s class: |
