Welcome to Carriganima National School's website. I am delighted to introduce our school to you. I hope you find it interesting and useful, whether as a prospective parent, current parent, or just interested in finding out more about us. We are a vibrant, diverse Primary school with many educational offerings, and we’re honoured you are considering Carriganima National School. As we embark on this new school year, my goal is to ensure that our pupils feel supported and inspired, that our families feel welcomed and valued, and that we maintain a school culture where respect and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do. I truly believe in the power of community, and it’s this sense of togetherness that will help our school continue to flourish. Carriganima National School is a three-teacher primary school located in a picturesque rural setting, catering for the educational needs of boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth class. We are extremely proud of our children and of our school community. Our drive and focus is to create a happy and caring school environment where each child can strive to reach their full potential. We place the children at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our wonderful children, we have a great team of Teachers and Special Needs Assistants who work together to provide an enriching experience for all the children. Our staff includes two mainstream Class Teachers, a Special Education Teacher, and one full-time and one part-time Special Needs Assistant. We also have an excellent ancillary staff, including a Secretary, Caretaker, and Cleaner who work tirelessly behind the scenes. 
There is a tremendous atmosphere in the school with staff, parents, and children, all working together in a caring environment. The school's work is supported by a diligent and hardworking Board of Management, a progressive and energetic Parents' Association, and a wonderful community around us.
Carriganima Childcare Centre is ideally situated on the grounds of Carriganima National School (in Sept 2019). This includes a Breakfast Club, Busy Bees Preschool, and an Afterschool Club. We greatly value our strong relationship with Busy Bees Preschool. Maintaining an open, friendly, and supportive communication helps create a happy and secure environment for all, making the transition to primary school smoother and more positive for the children. Through the various links and photographs on this website, you will gain an understanding of the principles and values in our school, the wonderful, wide range of activities and the fun and enjoyment in learning offered to our pupils. We are very proud to share many of the learning opportunities on offer in Carriganima National School, and we invite you to browse. The website is updated regularly so as to provide visitors to it, with updated notices, bulletins, photographs and other news on a variety of topics.
In Carriganima National School, we seek to create an inviting place of learning which promotes respect, appreciation and care for each other and our environment. Our mission has been for all children who come to our school to be happy, to feel nurtured and fulfilled. We would be delighted to welcome new children and their families into our school community and we accept enrolments for all classes at any stage throughout the year.
