Active Break Challenge
9th November to 4th December 2020
|
Enjoying our Active break before the rain! Movement breaks are a great way to restore concentration and focus.
Fundamental Skills
|
Catching can be relatively difficult as a developmental task during early childhood as we see children throw and kick,
even if their movement patterns are not yet proficient.
But if young children catch a ball, it often reflects the skill of the thrower in getting the ball to arrive in outstretched arms.

As you may know, Active SCHOOL Week takes place every year in Carriganima National School.
This year, the National Active School Week takes place from 27th of April to 3rd May 2020 but unfortunately, we are not in school
but we have decided to take part in Active HOME Week.
The idea of the #ActiveHomeWeek challenge is to encourage children to find new ways of being physically active that they enjoy and to raise awareness
about the fact that children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
There are lots of great physical activity suggestions online and on #ActiveHomeWeek or you can create your own.
Some other simple ideas; walking with your family, basketball, skipping, jumping on the trampoline, kicking a ball against a wall, hula hooping,
an obstacle course around your garden or some traditional sports day activities such as egg and spoon race, three legged race or sack race.
We would love to see your home videos and photographs of you and your families taking part in Active Home Week.
Remember to fill in the challenge chart of the activities which you took part in each day and send this back to your class teacher.

Bhí lá iontach againn i Scoil Náisiúnta Carraig an Íme inniu. Ghlac gach duine páirt san Cheilí mór. Well down to all the boys and girls who took part in the Céilí Mór. There was plenty of dancing, craic agus ceol. We really enjoyed it especially when the teachers joined in as well. |

If they got the question right they would receive a letter. By the end of the treasure hunt each team received 12 letters, the first team to unscramble the words into the letters Oiche Shamhna won the treasure hunt. Avril and Dara’s team won the treasure hunt . Well done everyone !!!! Santa Dash 2018The 2018 Santa Dash was held on the 19th of December 2018.

Halloween Disco 2018On the 25th of October 2018, all the classes came together in Mr. Newman’s classroom for the Halloween disco and fashion parade.
