News from the Parents Association
The Parents’ Association is established under the Education Act, 1998.
The Association is affiliated to the National Parents Council Primary (NPC) and takes guidance from this body on matters effecting education nationwide. The purpose of the Parent Association is to provide a structure through which the parents/guardians of children attending the school can work together for the best possible education for their children. |
The Parents Association also run fundraisers to provide funds to the school which help provide better facilities for the children.
All parents of children in the school are members of the Parent Association. These parents elect PA Committee Officers to work on their behalf.
The Committee liaise with the Principal, Staff and Board of Management to build effective partnership between home and school.
This ensures parents are represented in matters which relate to their children and are involved in decision making process affecting the school.

The Parents Association meet regularly to organise a range of social events throughout the year with the aim of bringing together the school community and fundraising for the school. We will keep you updated through the medium of this website, of all upcoming PA events and activities, so please check regularly.
Being involved in the PA is a wonderful way to be involved in your child’s school life and to know what is going on.

Over the past few years, the parade in Carriganima for St. Patrick’s Day has been a great success for the community. It is an exciting and entertaining day for young and old and draws many visitors to the village. Every year, the parade features an exciting mix of pipe bands, local community groups, dancing groups, primary school children and local business floats.
